Chelsea are keeping an eye on Alexis Sanchez contract situation at Arsenal and are willing to make a move for the Chilean in the summer, according to reports.
Sanchez is in talks with Arsenal to extend is current contract which expires in 2018 but reports are claiming negotiations have stalled and the player’s long term future is under serious threat.
It is believed the Chilean is demanding a salary package of about £20m a year or £385,000 a week which is way out of Arsenal’s wage structure.
The Gunners are prepared to offer the player around £200,000 a week but the player is unwilling to bring down his demands.
This have now placed his long term future in doubt and a host of clubs have been alerted by his situation.
According to The Mirror via Ibtimes UK, Chelsea are paying close attention to Sanchez’s future at Arsenal and will make a move for him next summer if he doesn’t sign a new deal.
The Blues reportedly wants to pair the Chilean with Diego Costa next season.
Chelsea are not the only Premier League club linked with a move for Sanchez this season as Manchester City have also been mentioned in recent weeks. But City’s boss Pep Guardiola a few days ago dismissed the reports claiming he is not interested in Sanchez.
Even if Chelsea are actually interested, it is going to be difficult for them to sign the Chilean because Wenger would resist any move from a rival club to sign the forward and could even decide to sell him abroad for a cheaper fee.
