Arsenal Rout Southampton in FA Cup Fourth Round Match
It was a perfect display of football from Arsenal on Saturday evening as they comfortably defeated Southampton 5-0. The Gunners were led by Theo Walcott who recorded a hat-trick by scoring the final three goals of the match.
The visitors got off to a fantastic start when Danny Welbeck netted a brace less than 30 minutes into the match. Walcott followed suite by tallying his first goal in the 35th minute, Welbeck was once again involved as he provided the assist.
In the second half, there was little going for Southampton offensively, and the Arsenal attack continued to break down the home sides back line. Alexis Sanchez would connect with Walcott in the final half-hour of the match twice, to bring the scoreline to 5-0.
David Ospina collected the clean sheet in the victory, as the Colombian made two saves.
The fifth round draw will take place on Jan. 30.
