Chelsea Defeat Watford

Two late goals allowed Chelsea to take all three points on the road at Watford. The Blues were down for most of the second half after going down in the opening 10 minutes. However, they were able to push through to win their second match of the season.

The first real opportunity of the match came in the 7th minute when Jose Holebas’s shot from close range was saved by Thibaut Courtois. Both sides were unable to find the back of the net in the opening 45 minutes, as they headed to the locker rooms all square.

Etienne Capoue broke the deadlock 10 minutes into the second half with a spectacular volley. The goal was assisted by Adlene Guedioura.

Chelsea would find the equalizer in the 80th minute, as Michy Batshuayi scored his first goal for the club. Eden Hazard’s shot took a hefty rebound and was put home by the summer signing.

Diego Costa would be the hero of the match in the 87th minute when he slotted home the match winner. Cesc Fabregas provided the through ball that allowed the Spanish striker to score.

The Blues will take their two match unbeaten streak back home when they face newly promoted Burnley next Saturday. Watford will host Arsenal for another tough test at home.
