Atletico Madrid boss Simeone flew in to Milan on Friday and spoke to a reporter who asked if he was there for Inter. El Cholo smiled and replied:

Simeone recently shortened his contract with Atleti to June 2018, meaning he’ll only stay one more season to see them inaugurate their new stadium. After that, he’ll be free to leave and seek new challenges elsewhere.

Simeone, who has experience of managing in Serie A with Catania in 2011, is reported by AS to have
“a great relationship and excellent friendship”
