Dortmund Extend Win Streak
Borussia Dortmund extended their winning streak to four matches in all competitions on Friday night. They have now outscored their opponents 20-1 during this fantastic run of form.
The home side had the majority of the first half chances and finally found the breakthrough in the 45th minute. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the goal scorer, as he finished off a pass from Ousmane Dembele.
It only took Dortmund seven minutes into the second half to double their advantage. Right back Lukas Piszczek slammed home a failed clearance attempt to record his second goal of the season.
Freiburg got a goal back in the 60th minute when striker Maximilian Philipp got behind the defense and calmly dispatched the ball into the net. The 22-year-old has scored three goals in five appearances this season.
Dortmund secured all three points in the 91st minute with a goal from substitute Raphael Guerreiro. The build up play to the goal was fantastic, as two back heel passes set up the Portuguese defender for his first goal of the season.
