Freddie Freeman extends hit streak to 30 games, longest in MLB this season

With a single in the sixth inning Wednesday night, Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman extended his hitting streak to 30 games, the longest such streak in the majors this season.

Coming into the game against the Philadelphia Phillies, Freeman has been clubbing the ball over his last 29 contests.

In 110 at-bats over that span, he’s slashed .382/.477/.673 with seven homers, 11 doubles, and 27 RBIs.

Prior to Freeman’s knock, he was tied with Boston Red Sox outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr., who had a 29-game hit streak earlier this season.
