Inter Milan are interested in securing a winter deal for Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta. The Argentine has been a key player in the Citizens’ success over the years.
According to ESPN, the Nerazzurri are willing to discuss a cut-price deal for Zabaleta in January with manager Frank de Boer concerned with his side’s poor start to the campaign. Zabaleta is approaching the final six months of his deal at the Etihad, and City would rather prefer him signing a pre-contract, with Pep Guardiola likely to stall his transfer activities until next summer. Apart from Zabaleta, fellow full-backs Gael Clichy and Bacary Sagna are also under threat of leaving the club at the end of the campaign. Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus is likely to be the sole arrival for Manchester City in the New Year after they settled a £27m deal with Palmeiras during the previous transfer window.
