Atletico Madrid have joined the race for Besiktas star Oguzhan Ozyakup according to reports in Turkey.
The AMK sports newspaper claim that Atleti have made signing Ozyakup a priority.
Per the source, Atleti have made an enquiry for Ozyakup and will enter talks with Besiktas at the end of the season.
Besiktas want to keep Ozyakup on at the club but the midfielder will have just 12 months remaining on his contract at the end of the season.
The Black Eagles have confirmed they will offer Ozyakup a new deal but also revealed that an offer that matches their valuation will be considered.
Besiktas value Ozyakup as being worth €25 [£21] million.
Atleti meanwhile are currently only prepared for offer €15 [£13] million.
Atleti have enjoyed success with Turkish players over recent years signing Emre Belozoglu and Arda Turan.
Turan went onto become a star player under the stewardship of Diego Simeone and was eventually signed by Barcelona on a big money move in 2015.
Atleti could however, face competition from the Premier League as Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal are all interested.
Turkish-Football recently revealed that United have been keeping tabs on the 24-year-old midfielder.
The Daily Star meanwhile has linked Spurs with a £12 million move for the Turkish international.
Arsenal scout Jurgen Kost has also confirmed interest and revealed that the club have been scouting their former man.
Kost was quoted by Turkish-Football as saying: “Ozyakup is a player of the highest standard, we have been closely tracking his progress and when we do our next search for players in his position he could return to Arsenal.”
The 24-year-old joined Besiktas on a £425,000 move from Arsenal in 2012 and has gone onto establish himself as a key player for the reigning Turkish champions.
Ozyakup has four goals and six assists in all competitions for the Turkish league leaders this season.
In total Ozyakup has been involved in26 goals and 38 assists for Besiktas since leaving the Gunners.
