Last night saw the Manchester United fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern frustrated as their side failed to capitalise on the otherwise stalling Top 4, as the Red Devils were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Hull City.
Despite the influx of big name stars to Old Trafford over the course of the summer, the United-mad punters were desperately crying out for someone to step up and turn a tight game on its head, with many of them believing they’re in dire need of a superstar.
Well, thanks to reports from Yahoo Sport, they may soon be getting their wish.
They’ve claimed a source close to the Old Trafford giants has told them top brass in Manchester believe they have ‘the basis of an agreement’ with Atletico Madrid over the summer transfer for Antoine Griezmann. Widely regarded as one of the leading strikers in the world, the Frenchman is undoubtedly one of the biggest names any team in the world could possibly sign.
United will reportedly have to go close to the world record sum they shelled out for fellow Frenchman Paul Pogba during the summer, though talks are said to be at a more advanced stage than has previously been reported. As you can well imagine, it’s sent the Man United fans at the bar into a raucous applause of course.
