Someone should let the Houston Rockets know that they’re on the brink of elimination.
The San Antonio Spurs shelled a lifeless Rockets side for a 61-42 halftime lead on the road in Game 6 on Thursday. San Antonio shot 57 percent while holding the Rockets to under 40 percent shooting – all without MVP candidate Kawhi Leonard, who sat out with an ankle injury.
The Toyota Center crowd booed the Rockets off the floor as the two teams headed to halftime.
Most of Houston’s woes can be traced back to James Harden, who turned in one of the worst performances of his career. He put up five points and four assists against five turnovers and three fouls in 16 minutes in the first half. Curious still, Harden only tried two shots – the fewest out of any player for Houston.
