Toronto F.C. vs. New England Revolution Match Recap

Toronto F.C. cruised to a 4-1 win on Saturday night in front of the home fans at BMO Field. The club was led by another stellar performance from Sebastian Giovinco.

The Italian would score his first of the match with a powerful shot hit from the outside of his right foot in the 20th minute. He would add another spectacular goal in the 29th minute to give his side a 2-0 lead at the half.

Any hopes of a New England Revolution second-half comeback were dashed when a penalty kick was awarded in the 76th minute. Jonathan Osorio drew the call after being fouled by Darrius Barnes. Giovinco stepped up and calmly dispatched the penalty to complete the hat-trick.

The Revolution picked up a consolation goal in the 88th minute, as Teal Bunbury directed a Kelyn Rowe cross into the net.

Jozy Altidore would put the game behind any doubt with a goal in the 93rd minute. The American has now scored twice since returning to the squad.

Toronto will visit Houston next Saturday to continue their rise to the top. The Revolution host the Philadelphia Union at Foxboro Stadium to start a two match home-stand.
