According to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a £3 million deal for Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon.
The report claims that Spurs have identified the youngster after watching him in action against Leyton Orient in the EFL Cup and are willing to throw in a player on loan to sweeten the deal.
Spurs have made a habit of buying England’s best youngsters over the years, and only 18 months ago signed midfielder Dele Alli from MK Dons before loaning him back for six months.
Alli’s rise to become an England international within 12 months has demonstrated the quality and potential which is out there below Premier League level.
Sessegnon has been with the Fulham academy for a number of years, and his impressive performances at left-back in youth football has seen him compared with Gareth Bale.
The 16-year-old is an attacking full-back capable of also playing at left wing, and he impressed on his debut as Fulham edged past Orient in an entertaining clash in the EFL Cup.
The report goes on to say that Spurs have told the money men to get a deal sorted now ahead of the competition, with Arsenal and Liverpool also accredited with an interest.
