Twisted Sister gives Mark Teixeira guitar to honor his retirement

In the pouring rain at Yankee Stadium on Friday, Mark Teixeira received a pretty cool retirement gift before the New York Yankees hosted the Baltimore Orioles.

Rock band Twisted Sister met the 36-year-old first baseman on the field and gave the slugger an autographed guitar.

Teixeira has used the group’s song “I Wanna Rock” as his walk-up music for most of his eight seasons in New York.

He’ll retire from baseball as one of the game’s best switch-hitters, slashing an impressive .269/.360/.510, which included 409 home runs and 1,297 RBIs over 14 seasons in the bigs.
