Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney is determined to see out the remainder of his contract at Old Trafford, according to reports.
The Englishman has lost his automatic starter status for club and country, but is said to believe he can win his place back in both sides in the near future.
While, he plans to retire from the national team after the 2018 World Cup, reports claim he will stick at Old Trafford with his current deal that runs until the end of the 2018-19 campaign.
He has been heavily linked with moves to China and MLS in recent times as both leagues are willing to play his staggering wages.
However, it seems Rooney believes he has a chance of being recalled to the starting XI in the near future.
Juan Mata has been spectacular in the No.10 role and has proven he has more to offer, but after his brilliant long range effort in their 2-1 defeat to Fenerbahce on Thursday, he has shown he still has it in his locker.
Many will say his general performance in Istanbul was disappointing, and it was, but he hasn’t caught a break since Sir Alex Ferguson retired and his versatility has been the downfall of his career after being pushed into other positions to accommodate his teammates.
